  • Centering Pregnancy

Centering Pregnancy is currently the gold standard of care that integrates the three major components of care: education, healthcare and social support. Prenatal care and education are provided in a relaxed group setting where eight to twelve women with similar due dates meet to share their experience. They learn care skills, participate in a facilitated discussion, and develop a support network with other group members. Each Pregnancy group meets for a total of 10 sessions throughout pregnancy and early postpartum. Over time, Centering Pregnancy has a proven track record of superb outcomes for both mother and baby. The Centering Pregnancy model is offered at High Country Healthcare OB/GYN to all of our patients. For some of our patients, Centering Pregnancy is a collaborative effort between Summit Community Care Clinic, Summit County Public Health and High Country Healthcare OB/GYN.
